Frequently Asked Questions

Fees

How are your fees determined ?

Our fees are determined based on your needs and the complexity of your case. They can be flat-rate or time-based. We only begin our work after the fees are agreed upon with our clients.

In the case of time-based billing, we ensure regular updates and transparent communication regarding the fees.

What is a fee agreement ?

A fee agreement is a contract signed between the lawyer and the client, outlining the remuneration terms for legal services. It specifies the nature of the services, the fee calculation method (flat-rate, time-based, or other), and any additional expenses.

This agreement ensures transparency and establishes a trusting relationship by defining the financial terms before starting our work.

What additional costs might be incurred beyond the fees ?

Additional costs may apply depending on your case specifics. These may include :

Necessary travel expenses for meetings, court hearings, or specific interventions.

Administrative costs, such as fees for sending registered mail.

External costs, including court registry fees, bailiff’s fees, or expert fees if external intervention is required.

All these costs will be clearly explained and detailed to you in advance.

Can your fees be paid in installments ?

Yes. At your request, we can arrange for monthly installment payments.

Do you accept legal aid cases ?

No, our firm does not handle cases under legal aid. We work exclusively on the basis of a fee agreement, tailored to the nature and complexity of each case.

However, we remain available to discuss financial arrangements and find a solution suited to your needs.

Where are your offices ? Do you work outside your region ?

It's difficult for me to travel, could we meet via videoconference?

Absolutely. Our appointments can be conducted at our Rennes or Paris office, over the phone, or via videoconference, depending on your preference.

Do you collaborate with other professionals (accountants, notaries) if necessary ?

Our firm has built trusted relationships with accountants, auditors, banks, and lawyers specializing in various fields.

Client relationship

Will I be kept informed about the progress of my case ?

Of course. We place particular importance on transparency and communication with our clients. You will be regularly informed of the progress of your case, the steps taken, and those to come.

We also remain available to answer your questions throughout the process, so that you stay fully involved and well-informed about your case.

What should I do if I have a question or an emergency during the processing of my case ?

The members of Librato Avocats are available on all business days to answer your questions. You can reach us by phone or email.

If you do not receive an immediate response, our reception desk is available from 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday to Friday, at 01.56.79.10.00 (Paris) or 09.72.51.60.31 (Rennes).

How long will it take to process my case ?

This naturally depends on the type and complexity of your case.

Indicatively :

• Company formation takes about a month ;

• Drafting a shareholder agreement takes 1 to 2 months ;

• A professional order procedure can take 2 to 6 months ;

• A case before the commercial or judicial court depends on the jurisdiction involved.

In any case, we adapt to your needs and schedule as much as possible.
